CUBIQ

Completed level nine, with all networks connected. However, it seems my combination wasn't THE ONE the game was looking for since I wasn't awarded the win to proceed to level 10. Knowing that there are numerous ways to complete the combination, but only a singular path considered the "chosen one," is a bit disheartening (guess I won't be a master of CUBIQ any time soon).

Two complaints with the intro text.

1) Sentence reads: "…that contain more combinations, but the only one is correct!"
It should read "…that contain more combinations, but only one is correct!" <take out the word "the">

2) Sentence reads: "Nobody never solved all 10 levels." That's a double negative used in the sentence. Therefore, what you actually just said was, "Everybody will solve all 10 levels sometime."

Unless you really mean everyone will solve all 10 levels to the puzzle, I suggest changing the sentence to read "Nobody EVER solved all 10 levels."

Aside from this it's a really fun game.

I was pretty impressed by the idea to be honest! Wish I'd thought of it. But I didn't :) The author's website is here I think.

The issue with nonunique solutions annoys me, and it's not uncommon. When I wrote my first puzzle game, it was one of my first resolutions that it would check the victory condition (eg in this case no free ends) rather than the the result was the same as the original grid. It's a bit naive to assume that the rules only allow one solution!

Thanks for the link. Agree the game is impressive. Have to say I was hooked from the start. After completing 9, however, I admit I had little interest reworking the puzzle; hoping for a different outcome (which might also not be the correct solution).

Another small improvement would be if it could save the last level completed like "Colour Shift" (another fun one).

These are only suggestions, as I have no room to gripe. The author wrote a addictive puzzle game (even like the background music), that I really enjoyed. Thumbs up.

I quite liked doing that in Lightshift/Colourshift - although admittedly that was after it had told you you'd won - you can sometimes find an alternate solution that does or doesn't use all the pieces (best in modes without dummies). I suppose there difference there is you know you can always carry on, whereas you can't get past level 9 without reading the authors mind in cubiq :)

Glad you like that - that one is one of mine :)
